Stacey and Kevin

On Friday I had the privilege of being a small part of Stacey and Kevin's wedding. It was a great day and a great celebration. The ceremony took place at St. Peter's and the reception was held at Villa Penna. I need to thank Stacey and Kevin along with their family and friends for making my day so much fun. Thanks and congratulations! Here's some of my favorite images of the day.

Merry Christmas!

I wanted to take time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. This has been a great year for me personally and professionally and I am looking for more great things in 2008.

For all of those people who have helped me this year - my family, friends, clients and players - thank you for everything. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year!

Laura and Dannie

Laura and Dannie's wedding is just around the corner, they will be getting married in late January and I am really looking forward to documenting their wedding day. The ceremony is at one of my favorite churches and the reception will be held at Maniaci's in Richmond. On Thursday they came out to the studio to get their engagement pictures taken.

I have three weddings coming up, it will be great to get back to some weddings. Be sure to keep an eye on the blog for some great slide shows over the next month.

Phimco Services

The large majority of my work consists of wedding coverage and portrait work, but I have just finished working with Phimco Services for some product photos to be used on the web and in some print advertisement. Phimco is a binding and finishing services company that also sells plastic coil. The print ad below shows one of the photos, you can also check out their website to see some of the other photos.

For anyone in need of graphic design work, the ad was designed by Suzanne at Graphic Visions. They really do some great work, check them out.

Season Update

Yesterday my team moved there record to 3-0 with a victory over Oakland Christain. After an opening victory at Capac last Tuesday we finished last week by defeating Algonac on Friday. We have two difficult games before Christmas break, today at Almont and Friday we are at home against Fraser.

I am really proud of the way the guys are playing. They are really working hard on defense and overall playing smart basketball. Let's hope they can continue their great play and push themselves to continue getting better.

Phimister Family

On Sunday I made a trip through the freezing rain and sleet to meet with the Phimister family for some Christmas family photos. Tom is the person who really gave me a push to step out and start my own business 5 years ago. It was great to see his family and share some time with them. Here is one of the family shots, thanks guys I had a lot of fun.

Game 1

Last night was my teams first game of the year. We made the trip out to Capac and had a successful night. After jumping out to a 19-0 lead we kind of coasted home. Capac put in a great effort making it a little closer at the end than I would have like, the final score was 59-50. I was extremely proud of the way the team handled everything, the first game of the year is always a bit unnerving but they were ready to go and played great. We have our home opener this Friday at Lutheran North, please stop by if you are in the area.

Check back tomorrow, I have just received a sample of the new albums I am offering in 2008, absolutely awesome. I think they are the best albums around and can't wait to show them off!

Have a great day!

Kids Photos

This past weekend I had the opportunity to shoot some children's portraits in Richmond. It is always a great time photographing kids, they show every emotion you can think of and it really results in some great photos. Here are a few of my favorites.

Josh

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I was able to spend it with a whole bunch of family and friends - and a ton of great food! Earlier in the week Josh and I went out to get some photos for this year's Christmas cards - here are a couple of shots that I really liked.

If you are in the area next week we start our basketball season in Capac on Tuesday night and have our home opener Friday night against Algonac. I am really excited, but there is a lot of work to do this week to get ready.

Have a great day.

Long Time

It has been a long time since I have posted and I have been really busy with things other than photography. The biggest and most time consuming thing has been the start of basketball practice. Most of you may know that I coach basketball at my old high school, Lutheran North. We started last week and had a crazy week as we try to learn everything. Our first scrimmage is this week, Friday, and it seems that there just is not enough practice time to fit in everything that we need to do. But I am having a great deal of fun and I am really optimistic about this season's team.

I have also begun working on the new baby's room, paint should be going up this coming weekend. One of my least favorite things to do is painting, but I have promised to have the room finished by Christmas so I had better get a move on it.

I have also been working on the business, we did a bridal show a couple of weeks ago and made some really great contacts. I have a few meetings scheduled over the next couple of weeks, my calendar for next year is really starting to fill up! We also have some really great new products that we are getting together for next year so be sure to ask us about those next time you see us.

Below are a couple of shots that I haven't posted from Seattle that I really like. These were both taken on our walk from the parking lot to the Space Needle.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, talk to you soon.

Baerwolf Family

Before I left fo Seattle I had the opportunity to take some family portraits for the Baerwolf family. I want to thank them for their patience, it has taken me a little longer than normal to get the photos ready. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Seattle - Day 4

My last full day in Seattle was really relaxing. Sunday morning I challenged my nephews to an xbox game, Fusion Frenzy. They proceeded to show no mercy on me and both gave me a beating. Then we headed out to Bellevue to have lunch at Maggiano's and do some shopping. The Bellevue Downtown Park was the setting for the picture of my dad, sister and me. Tomorrow we head home, so it's off to the airport in the morning. I just hope I can find my car when I get back to Detroit, I can't remember exactly where I parked, I think that I have a fairly good idea!

Have a great Day!

Seattle - Day 3

Saturday was another fun day in Seattle. We started by joining my sister on a two hour training walk. Have I mentioned how many hills there are in this part of the country. It was such a good workout that I didn't feel too bad slamming down my Fatburger lunch. Yum!

The pictures below, except for the red trees, are from Snoqualmie Falls. Which I have been told are higher than Niagra Falls. It was really kind of neat. But again my fear of falling from high places kept me from getting too close to the edge of the observation deck.

Seattle - Day 2

Today we went to downtown Seattle. I thought that I would get some really great pictures from the Space Needle, but when we got up to the top I remembered exactly how affraid of heights I am. Actually I am not affraid of heights, just affraid of falling from high places. So you will have to trust me that it was an awesome view from 500 feet above the city.

I really wanted to go to the world famous Pike Place Fish Market. So we ventured to the market and it was really cool. When someone orders a fish they toss it from the display area to the counter to be cut up. It was a slow day for fish purchases but we did get to see them toss a couple of fish. The fish market is part of a large public marketplace with hundreds of little stands where you can get fish, flowers, fruit, photos and touristy gift s of all sorts. It is also located across the street from the first Starbucks.

Here are a couple of fun shots from today, the first one is a cool panoramic photos that is actually 19 pictures combined to form one large print. Next is my dad and I and the final two are from the market. I hope you like them, have a great day!

Seattle - Day 1

I am in Seattle for the next couple of days. My dad and I flew out today to visit my sister and her family. Seattle is much different then the D, I don't think I have seen a flat piece of land since I landed. I can't wait to get out tomorrow and take some pictures. I think that we are heading downtown tomorrow, that should be a lot of fun.

If you need anything feel free to call or e-mail as you usually would. I will be taking phone calls and returning e-mails all weekend.

Engagement Sessions

This weekend I had two engagement sessions, I met Michelle and Jeff at Blossom Heath in St. Clair Shores on Sunday. Then Monday night I met up with Stacey and Kevin at Heritage Gardens in Shelby. Both couple were really fun to work with and can't wait to shoot their weddings. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Jessica & Derek

Saturday was a perfect late October day, the weather was warm, the trees were in full color and I had the privilege of shooting Jessica and Derek's wedding. They were married at the wonderful St. John's Lutheran Church in Ray Township and held their reception at Golden Hawk. Monique from Crimson and Clover did an excellent job, as usual, with the flowers. Be sure to watch the slideshow to see the days highlights! Congratulations Jessica and Derek, thank you for letting me be a part of your day.

Thanks

I had another busy, but really awesome weekend. It all started Saturday with Susie and Derek's wedding. It was a beautiful day, outstanding weather and a whole lot of really fun people. I will have their slideshow posted later today so make sure to stop back to check that out. Sunday was just as busy as I fit in two portrait sessions, check back later in the week to see some great shots from both, and I finally closed my pool. We usually close the pool in early September so getting that done really gets me out of the dog house.

This weekend marks the end of a busy wedding season. I would like to thank all of the couples who put their trust in me to document one of the most important days of their lives. I had a lot of fun, I hope you did too.

Have a great day!

Susie & Kevin

Wednesday evening I got together with Susie & Kevin for their engagement shoot. We started at Van Hoosen Farms, which was a really great setting for photos, and then went to downtown Rochester. Here are a couple of my favorites from Wednesday night.

I have a great weddingto shoot this weekend, be sure to check back on Monday for the slideshow!

Engagement Shoots

Here are a couple of shots from my engagement sessions on Sunday. I met with Jessica & Kenton at Heritage Gardens in Shelby early in the morning. It was a cold morning but the gardens looked awesome and Jessica and Kenton were great. Sunday evening I drove down to Detroit to meet Jennifer & Tim. It started raining just before I made it downtown and didn't stop until we had walked all over Detroit and were just about to head home. Jennifer & Tim made the best out of the weather and I think we got some really great shots.

Cherese and Adam

Saturday was a great day, for a mid-October day you really couldn't ask for anything better. Cherese and Adam's wedding was held a Golden Hawk Golf Club and it was perfect. It helps that Cherese's mother is the very talented Monique from Crimson & Clover Floral, the flowers were absolutely awesome. It was a fun all day long, congratulations Cherese and Adam.

Please enjoy the slideshow, have a great day!

Katy & Chris

There was no better way to start my busy weekend than shooting Chris & Katy's wedding. They both have amazing families and friends who know how to celebrate a great occassion. It seems like I always comment on the great couples that I work with, but it is so true. Katy and Chris were no different, they made my day great from begining to end. The wedding was at the beautiful St. Peter's Church in Richmond, the reception was at one of my favorite places, Maniacci's. Steve from Sound Patrol kept the party moving all night. Most of all thank you to Katy, Chris and both of their families. I had a great time.

Here's the slideshow, please be patient it will take a little time to load.

Crazy Weekend

It's late Sunday evening and I am relaxing on the couch watching the MLB playoffs. A great finish to a really busy weekend. I was woken up Friday morning at 7am by Josh wishing me a Happy Birthday. Josh wakes me up every morning but that was the best birthday present of all. Friday morning we joined Josh's preschool class at Westview Orchard in Romeo for his first field trip.

The remainder of the weekend was spent working. I was able to spend Friday and Saturday with two great couple - Chris & Katy and Cherese & Adam - congratulations to both. I had a great time at both weddings and there are some really great images, both slideshows will be posted sometime Monday.

Today I had two engagement photo shoots, one at Heritage Gardens in Shelby and one in a rainy downtown Detroit. Check back Tuesday and Wednesday for pictures from those two shoots.

That's all for now, please look back over the next few days to check out some great slideshows and images. Have a great day!

Liz & Blake's Wedding

When I shot Liz and Blake's engagement photos in July I knew that I would have a great time at their wedding. They are two genuinely nice people with great energy, they really make a photographers job easy. The wedding was Saturday in Armada and it was really a perfect day. Congratulations to Liz and Blake, and Thank You to everybody involved in the wedding who helped make my day so enjoyable.

Amazing Wedding

On Saturday I was blessed to shoot an amazing wedding with Liz and Blake. I am putting the slideshow together now and will have that posted this afternoon. While you wait here are a few relaxed portraits, please check back later to see the slideshow.

MLB Playoffs

Now that the Tigers are finished for the season, I can return to my roots and once again become a Cleveland Indians fan. I love the baseball playoffs and will be watching the every night. As if anyone cares but I predict a Cleveland Indians v. Chicago Cubs World Series. I will be happy as long as the Yankees get eliminated, the earlier the better.

This should make my favorite Brewers fan very happy! Feel free to leave me a comment with your predictions.

Detroit Zoo

I love having the freedom to be able to drop everything and take my son to the zoo whenever he asks. Today Josh and I were sitting around the house and he asked if we could go to the zoo, so we went. It was a great morning, the weather was perfect and there were not that many people at the zoo. They just opened a new exhibit where you can feed the giraffes, Josh loved it. I would highly recommend buying a membership to the zoo, it is really the best deal in town. Well maybe the second best, just behind photography from our studio. Have a great day!

Go Tigers!

Tonight I went to one of my last Tiger's games of the year. Even though it would take a miracle for the Tigers to make the playoffs, it was still a great night at Comerica Park. The home team won 5-4, exiting game. It was fun and i can't wait until next year. There is just nothing better then spending a Friday evening, or any evening for that matter, watching baseball.

I am off to Chicago tomorrow to watch the Concordia Cougars football game. I hear their defense is really playing well. Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cherese and Adam - Engagement

After a wedding on Saturday, Sunday morning editing pictures and the onset of a cold I was really exhausted on Sunday evening. Then I made the long drive out to Port Huron to meet Cherese and Adam for their engagement photos. Not only was the Port Huron boardwalk a beautiful place to take photos, but Cherese and Adam were great. We started off with them and their great dog and then just walked up the boardwalk for about an hour and got some great portraits.

I have been really lucky this year with a lot of new business and really great couples. It is really a great compliment to be trusted with documenting a couples wedding. As I prepare for what is going to be a really busy October, I want to thank all of the couples I have worked with this year for letting me be part of their important day! I really do have a great job.

Lindsay and Derek

Saturday was a great day, great weather and a great wedding. Lindsay and Derek were married at St. Augustine in Richmond. St. A's is a great old church and it was filled with family and freinds. After the ceremony we headed out to Marine City. I hadn't shot a wedding in Marine City before, it was awesome. The river walk area was a great place to catch some moments with the bridal party. Thanks to Lindsay and Derek along with their family and freinds for making my day so much fun. Check out the slideshow for the days highlights.

Allison and Mike - Engagement

Today I went to St. Clair to shoot Allison and Mike's engagement photos. The boardwalk in St. Clair is just an awesome place, it is also where Mike proposed to Allison. It is always great taking photos in a spot that has so much meaning. Allison and Mike were great and I can't wait to shoot their wedding next June. Check out the slideshow of some of my favorites from tonight.

Exciting News

We have had a couple of very exciting days. On Tuesday we went for Nikole's ultrasound and found out that our baby is a boy. Josh is really excited to have a little brother on the way. Nikole will need a bit of extra strength and patience to handle a third man around the house.

Today was Josh's first day of preschool. Nikole and I were a little worried about wether or not he would like it, but Josh loved it. He had so much fun with his new teachers and all of his new friends. He can't wait to go back. Here is his first day picture.

Draper

Our friends have been asking me for about a year to get them pictures of Draper. We were invited for dinner today so I took my camera. Draper is an adorable dog, who kept running away from me and the camera, but we still managed to get some fun shots.

Check back Thursday morning for some great engagement photos.

Evan

This weekend I got to do some senior pictures with Evan. It has been raining nonstop for the last week and a half, so we had to reschedule a couple of times. Luckily the rain stayed away for a couple of hours and we made our way around Richmond and Armada to get some really great shots. Thanks Evan, have a great senior year.

Lindsay and Derek's Engagement

I went out to Heritage Park yesterday to shoot engagement pictures for Lindsay and Derek. I was kind of worried about the weather, but the rain stayed away and we were able to capture some really great images. I am excited about their wedding in September. Lindsay and Derek are both great, fun people. The wedding ceremony is in Richmond and the reception in St. Claire, two awesome towns with some great picture opportunities. Be sure to check back in mid-September to view the slideshow.
